  Besides like having morning tea and late-night snacks, Cantonese prefer various snacks, so do the Yangjiang People. There are three tea markets a day in Yangjiang -- the morning tea market, noon tea market and the evening tea market respectively, among which the morning tea market is the most popular one. When drinking tea in the tea market, almost every local people will order some unique Yangjiang snacks, such as the Rice Noodle Roll with Vegetables, “Yetie”, the Dog-tongue Shaped Cookie made from rice powder and herb extract, the Rice Cake, which are unavailable in any other places. Being cooked carefully, these snacks are delicious and cheap. And it’s the love of the local people to them that make these traditional snacks popular till now.

  

 Oyster of Chengcun Village

 

  Living in the special where the salt water and fresh water intersect, the Oyster produced here is famous for its fresh meat and free from any residue. There are four famous oyster dishes in Chengcun Village-- the Poached Oyster, the Fried Oyster and White Power Cake, the Oyster and Lettuce Dish and the Oyster Feast, whose each dish, even the soups and staple diet, are made from oyster.

 

 

  Three Distinctive Seafood Dishes

 

  One Night Stand

 

  Ingredients: Marine Golden Thread Fish, salt of a great amount, preservative film, oil, garlic and ginger

  Cuisine: Salt down the golden thread fish with crude salt, then cover it with preservative film. After that, put it in the fridge for a whole night. Take the fish out from the fridge the next day and wash away the crude salt. Then dry it in the air. And then fry the dried fish with abovementioned seasonings in the hot oil. When both sides turn to golden yellow, the dish is prepared.

 

  Endless Love

  Ingredients: salted fish, fresh fish, lobster sauce produced in Yangjiang, oil and ginger

  The way to cook: Fry the fresh fish in hot water until both sides turn light yellow. Then put the fried fish and the salted fish in one plate. Add lobster sauce, shredded ginger and other seasonings and then steam it.

 

 Quick-fried Salted Fished

  Ingredients: salted fish, oil, garlic and ginger

  The way to cook: Add salted fish and seasonings to the hot frying pan and quick fry it.
